What phone? The Note8 has 7.1.1 but S8 and Plus will go from 7.0 to Oreo 8.0.0.

And Oreo is in beta and your have to join.

I don't think you had 7.1. The S8 shipped with 7.0 and hasn't seen an OS update yet. Samsung is skipping over 7.1 and will be updating the S8 to Oreo, which is 8.0.

It may just have been a security patch.

Unfortunately, Samsung has never released 7.1 for the S8 series. At least not from what I can tell and I've looked it up. Also, they wouldn't go backwards.

As per Android Central, none of the US carriers have ever released 7.1 for any S8 variant.

Also, checking Sammobile.com fails to come up with any copy of a 7.1 firmware for the S8+ of any variant for any country.

This makes me think you're just remembering it wrong because no 7.1 firmware was never released for the s8+.

Yeah, sorry. I agree, the S8/S8+ launched with 7.0 and never received 7.1. It'll go straight to 8.0.

Great phone, only slightly 0.1" taller than s8+
There are more differences than just spen and 7.1

Note came with 7.1
