Software Updates (Lack there of)

Somebody please answer this:

What is so great in 7.1 that I'm missing out on my s8? btw we get software updates quite often in the Sammy camp since the note7 fiasco.

The last one is the important one.

Android™ 7.1.1 Nougat: Many enhancements including new multitasking features, more efficient notification controls and improved data saver and battery features.
