I've recently bought a Note 10+ and noticed I cant download any software updates thru my unlimited mobile data. Keeps telling me to connect to WiFi. On my previous phone(Note8), I was able to use mobile data to download them. Any way around this? What's the reason for this?

Yes. I remember being able to "force" download via Mobile Data. But now it needa Wifi...

Wrong! Why such a blanket statement? The first picture is in the settings for the play store, the second is for security updates.

Are you talking about System updates or app updates? App updates can go over either but system updates must be downloaded on wifi.

I misread. I didn't think they were referring to app updates. Software updates for Phone OS need wifi. Apps can updated over cellular.

please refer to my post #7 that shows very clearly that you can update the OS over wifi or mobile.

Ms. Flicker is correct. I've done system updates using LTE too.

Even Verizon let's you download over network. They just recommend you have a strong signal.
You can tell the update when to load, WiFi or network.

Not true for me on Verizon

Think they want you to do it over a strong secure wifi signal.
So you dont get any corrupt data on download.

But by all means..
Do it however you want.
For me.
It will be over wifi only.

LOL, with my work hours, I do 90% of my updates while at work. On Verizon's network.

I got some Bixby updates overnight, didn't pay attention to what was updated though, just installed them
