Hello all,

I see some posts about a magical/mythical battery improving firmware. LOL. Anyway some people are saying that their phone possibly received said firmware and rebooted. Others have said that they were told a factory reset wad necessary to obtain this firmware (doubtful).

Unfortunately anyone that has posted such have not posted any numbers etc. So where are u guys sitting firmware wise?? Especially would like to hear from people that had this magical reboot out of nowhere :)

Press menu/settings/about phone/software information and look at the software number. Not sure if i had a reboot but im sitting at 1.12.605.6

I THINK that's the number in "about phone" that we should be concerned with. Maybe one of The resident experts can chime in and let us know if that's the number that we should be looking at to see if a firmware did indeed hit.

Also, anyone know what this phone shipped with firmware wise?

Thanks in advance.

I did have a magical reboot in the middle of the night. I have the same software version as you. 1.12.605.6

Don't know what it came factory with.

Not sure, but I'm sitting at 1.12.605.6

I'd be curious to know about this too

Mine mysteriously rebooted this morning. Same version as you guys. It's all a conspiracy I tell ya!

I got an auto reboot. Also still have 1.12.605.6. I noticed that the time off charger had been reset after the reboot, as if I had just unplugged it.

I did not notice a reboot and my uptime is 2days, 8hours and 26minutes, so no reboot last night or today and I am at 1.12.605.6

Phone reboot on me earlier today out of nowhere. I have the same version as everyone has here.

Speaking if battery myths: I read a lot of posts telling people to go through a few full charge/discharge cycles to the battery to get broken in. Android might learn about the battery over time but I'd like a detailed explanation using science, logic, references, and big words explaining why a full discharge would ever be a good idea on a lithium polymer pack.

My version is the same.

Might also be interesting to compare PRLs since I've seen them require reboots. Mine is 15008. No change since new.

I'm using one of Adrynalyne's ROMs, so I have 1.12.605.9 as well.

Some people claim this newer variation has better battery life, but I've been getting roughly the same (which has been good: 14+h and easily making it through the day). It seems to work better overall, though.

1.12.605.6 is the shipping firmware, AFAIK. When it gets updated it will almost definitely prompt you before applying the update (if it's anything like every other Android phone I've seen).

Mine did a mystery reboot last night while we were out to dinner, running the same as everyone else. I must say I have been getting 15+ hours of battery with med use. I bump charge (turn off, plug in go green, pull re-plug go green, turn on plug in go green) I have done this method last two days, and have SOLID 15+ hours of battery life. I don't use Juice Defender, I have only changed sync settings and turned screen down to 25%. Must say I am loving this phone especially with the improved battery life!!!!

Ah, this explains the mystery reboot. I was getting settled in bed 2 nights ago and at 4AM I heard a slight vibration and then noticed a bright white light. Picked the phone up and saw it rebooted. Had no clue what caused it, though.

Mine mysteriously rebooted on me today too....and now that u mention it my battery has only dropped 3% since 6:30pm and if would normal drop at least 15%by now. Interesting theories.....let's see how tomorrow goes eh?

Since when did they start putting a Li-PO battery in the Thunderbolt? Both of mine are stock batteries and they are Li-ion.
