I tried to listen to some music today on my Rezound for the first time since the ICS update went out, and was annoyed to find that my phone couldn't see any of the music I'd loaded on...all 28 GB of it. What was interesting was that other types of files, like word documents, showed up fine. I hunted around on Google for a bit and found a couple of causes for this sort of thing, which I'll repeat here in case anyone else needs an answer to this issue:
A.) Did you "clear space" on your SD card from the Settings? ICS may have accidentally identified your music and other files as temporary app files and erased them. Check this by plugging your phone (or the card) into your computer and opening up the files to make sure they're not empty. Until an update resolves this issue I'd just suggest erasing files manually when you need to clear up space.
B.) Take out (the battery, then) your SD card and put it back in. The first time I tried this it didn't work. You may not have to follow what I did exactly to get it to work, but here's what I did:
1. Unmount SD card and turn off quick boot from the Settings.
2. Take off back of the phone and take out the battery, without shutting down first.
3. Remove SD card.
4. Replace only battery, start up the phone. Open up a file browsing app to check that there aren't any "ghost" files.
5. Repeat Step 2.
6. Replace SD card, battery, back, and then turn the phone back on.
My guess on what's happening is that making the phone to realize the SD card is gone will trigger a rescan of the card when it appears again. Like I said, there may be a simpler way, but this one worked for me.
