I used to have full gray bars about 60% of the time and it was driving me nuts as I like to stream music while driving. There were parts of my commute where I new I could listen to music because I had blue bars, and multiple mile stretches where I knew my bars would be gray. Now, I'm blue all the way!
I starting reading the thread about Nova launcher about a week ago and decided to give it a try. With the extra real estate I decided to add a Wi-Fi widget to my home screen so I could turn it off when not at home or the office to conserve some of my precious battery. Well much to my surprise, as I drove around with Wi-Fi off, I was able to get a good strong 3G signal everywhere, even those spots that I ALWAYS went gray. I drove to work this morning and for the first time, never lost blue bars. I guess the Wi-Fi radio was competing or drawing priority from the 3G radio? I'm not sure, but I'm very happy today. I've never seen this posted before, so I wanted to throw it out there.
