[SOLVED (SORTA)] Tab won't turn on or charge (Or charges extremely slowly)

So, I've had my tab for a while; bought it from a friend who stopped going to school and didn't need it anymore.
I recently moved and haven't used it for a couple weeks (but it's been on). I decided I would be using it soon, so I checked its charge (extremely low) and plugged it in before leaving the house.
Now, hours later, I have come back into the room to see the powered down charging indicator flash on for one-two seconds before flashing back off for about five. This repeats for as long as I have it plugged in.

Holding the power button to turn it on does nothing, it just continues to cycle the charging indication. I've tried this while plugged into the wall, a computer, and unplugged.
Holding the power button and either volume button does the same as above for each of the above. I'm not sure what to do at this point.

Anyone know of something to help?

EDIT:
When plugged into my computer, the tab pops up as an unspecified device for about a second every five seconds.

Maybe the charger or charging cable has failed? See if you can try a different charger.

I only have the one. It's similar, but not compatible with (as far as I can tell) the iPhone 4 and earlier model chargers.

EDIT: I just tried holding the power button while pressing the screen. It now flashes the powered down charging indicator for about a half second every three seconds. :o

Let it sit overnight on the charger without disturbing it, then check again in the morning. Also, see if you can find a replacement charger and charging cable, or one that is compatible, and see if that works.

You need 2 Amp output from the charger. Cellphone chargers will normally output 0.75 to 1Amp

Whenever connected to the wall, I only use the cable and adapter that came with the tablet. When connected to a computer, I'm only using the cable the came with the tablet.
I've never had a problem before, and maybe it had something to do with the move, but letting it sit for about 24hr (I had plugged it in at about 4:00 yesterday and it still didn't work as of 6:30a when I went to work) evidently let the device have enough charge to not have a heart attack. I'm trying to watch and see if it is staying charging, but it's constantly updating me on E-mails/updates I haven't seen in the two weeks I wasn't using it.

EDIT: It finally finished and it is now staying connected. I wonder what the issue was; stupid inexplicable issues annoy the heck out of me.
