Does anyone know how to get rid of the white boxes over my home screen? Pic below

Welcome to Android Central! First, it looks like you're using a screenshot as a wallpaper (as evidenced by the double image of the nav buttons at the bottom). Try changing the wallpaper to one of the stock ones that came with the phone.
