Okay, I bought a Optimus two days ago to lock in the $25 dollar plan and today I decided to walk into the best buy I worked by to see if they had them. Surprise! They were on the hook! So I grabbed it and was even able to activate. I think that was because they are only locking it out for new activations, not esn swaps. Also, be sure to use this coupon at best buy. You'll get 10% off ($32 bucks or so)

FYI, I'm not going to see if the bootloader is locked or try to root it. I'll leave that for the more experienced and do it when the kinks are ironed out.

I'm relatively familiar with adb and all that. If I can get the computer to see the phone in adb (even with Moto drivers in right now...), I'll gladly try it out if someone will give me a little guidance.

Battery life, not surprisingly, kinda sucks... Have yet to make it 24 hrs on light use. Probably couldn't make it 15 on moderate use... still tweaking though.

qui k setting hotspot don't work said by 2 triumph users, they get error message.

im in Kansas city Missouri...the best buy here in town i called and they wouldnt sell them early so i called the one in independence and they said he had 5 come in the night before and he said he couldnt find a set date to realease them so he said come get it...he said after i got it i was prob the only guy in the area with one which made me feel kinda cool for a minute

I'm in Raleigh, North Carolina and i have been trying and still cant get it did it with the red button and online kept saying phone swap failed. Do you think if i do it manually by doing ##VIRGIN# and editing it wou d work?

my optimus v gave me problems when i first got it because i tryed to set it up and i didnt have a good enough signal where i was at and it was saying something like error unsuccessful activation and to call virgin but i remember when i got to a better area where my 3g would work the activation worked the first try...not sure if that will help but it might

got mine from issaquah washington. supposedly the bellevue store got theres and started selling them this last thursday... wow. guy said he had 3 in stock and they sold 1 today before me. also, there is no stock mobile hotspot, and i couldnt get mine to run thru quick settings. i'll try to reset the phone. edit - im getting linpack scores of over 40 mflops...thats what my overclocked evo would grab on an overclocked miui rom... interesting... (thats really fast for anyone who has no idea what im talking about... my max on my overclocked optimus v was 11 mflops.... actually my evo stock was terrible like 14 mflops.

Got mine today in Portland, Or. Went online and did the swap phone, used the activate button and had 3G within the hour. Odd thing was when doing the swap phone online it said I'd receive an email with activation instructions within the hour, never received. Seems much snappier than the OV. Hard to tell battery life since it's been used pretty heavy with set up and all. Thus far pretty happy.
