I'm trying to decide between Worth Ave and Squaretrade. From what I understand of their policies, Squaretrade will cover anything wonky the phone is doing without it being user's fault (like manufacturing defects, just randomly stops working in some way) after the 1 year manufacturer's warranty is up, whereas Worth Ave won't, but they cover theft if there's a police report and proof of forced entry, and Squaretrade won't. I'm assuming if I ever had a defect that I felt was bad enough to get a new phone, and HTC wasn't helping me out, I could drop it and get the screen cracked, then send it into Worth Ave with that as the issue. If it ever came down the that, I know it's not the ethical thing to do.
I'm not sure how helpful their theft coverage would be, cause knowing my luck, it'd get stolen out in the open somewhere and while I thought it was on my person, like a bar or restaurant. The one time my car was broken into, they must have been seen and left before getting a hold of my stereo, because my stereo just had some scratches around it and my car door had some scratches around where they got in (but it's still able to lock) and I honestly wouldn't have noticed or known if they hadn't left their little plastic red crowbar on the the driver's seat. So apparently it is possible to get into my car without breaking anything and leaving locks intact, which is why I take my stereo cover in and everything else in with me everywhere.
I'm still leaning towards Worth Avenue. I'll just be a little paranoid not having mysterious loss covered like it was by Asurion through Sprint.
Are there any other companies I should be looking at? Ensquared mentions nothing about cracked screens on their site, and Securranty seems to cover any and all damage to phones, but says nothing about theft and loss in their smartphone plans.
