Some push notifications not working

Some notifications for certain apps are not working properly. I've already gone to settings General apps to make sure that the box is checked for notifications and it is.
The app and particular that I would like to get working properly again is a game I also have this game on my LG Tribute 5 and the notifications work just fine on that however I'm on a LG K7.
Can anybody tell me why this might be and what I might do to fix this as I said it's only certain apps for instance my Facebook notifications come through just fine my browser notifications are fine other game notifications are fine but this game in particular just does not notify me properly.

Even when the phone is awake the notifications do not work properly.

Go to Settings>Data Usage. Is Restrict Background Data turned on for those apps?

Background data is not restricted

Go to the Settings>Battery menu and look for a Battery Optimization option -- you might have to tap the Menu button again to see it. If those apps are battery optimized, see what happens if you turn optimization off.
