Some questions that I wanted to ask...

Now I did come from the Storm and this phone is a HUGE improvement, but there are a few things I want to ask about and see if they are normal, can be fixed, whatever. So here goes.

1. I'm not keen on the homescreen. I downloaded and tried Launcher Pro. But, it's in Beta. I've never really been comfortable with beta's. I usually just wait for the actual release. I only tried one leak on the Storm and couldn't wait for the official release by Verizon so that I could get it on my phone and feel good again. Are there other launchers that you guys/gals would suggest or recommend? I like the look of Launcher Pro though.

2. I used to have email on my Storm and on my X when I added my two email accounts (the two besides my Gmail one) it started pulling in emails that were weeks old that I had already read and replied to and deleted. Does it have to do with the option that I checked in Outlook Express to leave messages on the server? Please help me with this.

3. I am on FaceBook like most people. There are so many ways to keep up on that like the widgets, Android app, m.facebook.com, touch.facebook.com. How do you guys keep up? I have the notifications go to my email, but when I click on the link in the email, it goes to touch.facebook.com and I CAN'T STAND that site. Is there a way to get it to go to m.facebook.com instead? Touch.facebook.com is just not correct with status updates first. All I see is out of date news feed.

4. Is there a app that will duplicate HTC Sense? I am probably going to download Beautiful Widgets and Beautiful Weather (?). This should do the trick I hope.

5. Does anyone here use one of those reward card apps? I had Cardstar on my Storm, but the screen was too reflective and wouldn't/couldn't be scanned by the hand scanner. I tried it on my X and no barcode would show. So I tried Key Ring and that one wouldn't show the barcode on some cards either. So I got rid of it since I really don't use my reward cards very much anyway. Any thoughts on this?

6. I opened an app last night while holding the phone in the portrait position. When the app opened, it was in the landscape position. I just rotated the phone to the landscape position and back to the portrait position and it rotated to where it should have been to start. Was this just a hiccup? I was used to this happening with my Storm, but not with a powerful Droid X.

7. And every once in a while, when hitting the home button on my phone, the screen will go black for a second or two before going to the unlock screen. Is this normal?

I guess that's it for now. I'll update this thread with more questions as I remember them.

Thanks everyone!

1. I've never tried LauncherPro but I currently run ADW.Launcher and it's great and lots of configurations you can make. Similar in look and feel as LauncherPro. Plus you can save and backup your ADW settings and desktop config in case you don't like it, or want to temporarily try something else.

2. I think it's automatic that whatever is in your inbox in your e-mail accounts, it automatically shows up in the phone's inbox, since it's syncing with the account. I didn't see it as that big of a problem as I selected of all of them and marked them as read, and most of my e-mails are sorted with labels or folders anyway.

3. I don't use Motorola's social networking/Facebook app. I just use the Android app and it pretty much does what it needs to do. I don't have FB send notifications to my e-mail because I check FB often enough with the app anyway.

4. Beautiful Widgets is awesome. It's the only app I've paid for so far and there are tons of themes to download for free.

5. Nope, I don't have one of those.

6. Probably just a hiccup, or an issue related to the app itself. I haven't had that happen to me.

7. Hmmmm, do you mean when you're in an app or browser and you press the home button down at the bottom that it does that?

Thanks for the answers I got so far. And to answer 7, no. When the phone is locked and I press the home button to wake the screen, the screen goes black for a few seconds and then wakes.

To answer 7 again, no. When I press the top button on the phone, it is locked and the screen goes black. When I press the second button below the screen (looks like a house) the screen will light up or wake, but it takes a few seconds and goes black first or flashes black first and then comes on. Understand? I realize it's hard to explain, but I can't explain it any clearer. Also, I've noticed that at the top of the screen to the left of the earpiece, where the green notification light is, when I press the home button or the lock button at the top, I can see a quick flash of light through that notification light as if the light is coming through where it shouldn't. OK, that is probably going to be even harder to understand.
