Some Trade-in issues...

Chat and phone person said I will not get charged but didn't ask for my pictures to be sent in or anything cause they know they were wrong. I took a screen shot of my chat and the phone lady said she is emailing me with a ticket number. And it will take 24 to 72 hours I need to check my credit card statement.

Good idea to document the chat too. One big advantage to going through chat instead of live phone call.

Glad to see it worked out for you in the end. Same exact thing happened to my wife's trade in. Did they attach blurry pictures of what they claim was sent in? It's been 2 weeks since Samsung received my trade in and I'm still waiting on the verdict.

They sent me 4 pictures the back was kind of blurry the front didn't even look like an Active 2 they weren't good pictures at all. It was crazy! But my husbands got approved for his watch 3 for $185.

I received an email tonight that my trade in was rejected. 3 pictures of a black cloth of what they received. Ugh, need to contact Samsung support again. In the end no chargeback. Seems like this is purposely set up to reject a trade in and if contacted Samsung will reverse the decision without question.

The now infamous black cloth. I got it and fought it, now no charge back. Very fishy if you ask me!

I can't believe their doing this to people. It's crazy! We've traded in a few phone and our S10 + were good when we got our S21 Ultras. We did it cause of how much money we got and the accessory credit. But I like going to Best Buy if they have a good deal cause it's not worth the headache dealing with Samsung.

I've done Best Buy several times too and that is where I got my Active 2 after Samsung refused to to do anything when my Galaxy watch broke 2 weeks before my year was up and they tired to blame it on me and say liquid damage. This Velcro piece came off the bottom and it wasn't charging. They finally sent me a refurb after I got an open box A2 at BB for such a good price and I did Best Buy's warranty that time. My hair dresser ended up wanting the galaxy watch and she did my hair cut and color for a trade so it worked out in the end. I loved my A2 though had it a year and a half no problems.

Just got off the phone with Sammy support, I received an email a few hours ago that my aw2 trade in was not accepted. The guy on the phone told me that it showed that I hadn't sent in an aw2. I calmly, but forcefully, told him that that was not right, I did send in an aw2. He put me on hold for a couple of minutes and came and told me that the charge had been reversed and that was followed by an email saying the same thing.

This isn't the first or even the second time I've done trade INS with Samsung but it's the first time I've run into an issue. At least it was not typically "Samsung difficult" to get it corrected. I've had experiences in the past with a tv that was nothing short of hellfire, loud cussing, and near foaming at the mouth to get them to do the right thing.

Yikes. I'm scared to send in my watch 3 I'm trading in toward watch 4 reading most of these posts lol. Glad both of my phones I traded in toward fold 3 were successful. Maybe I'll just let them just charge me the $135 trade in credit and sell watch. I mean my watch 3 is like brand new if they reject it can I request Samsung to send it back to me? I don't remember if I saw it anywhere stating they will.

Edit: Never mind lol. I found where they said they will send it back free of charge at my request. And if they did say it failed dang straight I'll request watch back. Lol

wonder if the person looking at aw2 even know what the watch looks like. Mine got rejected yesterday. I was going to fight them but since I accidentally deleted the video I made while preparing for shipping, I think I will ask for it back.

update ---
decided to call them and they cancelled the chargeback ;-) She looked at their video and said it was clearly an aw2. wonder if they are wanting customers to call for some unknown reason.

I know it's weird cause they didn't want proof from me and I had good legit pictures.

Absolutley include photos of the device turned on to the original set-up screen. Make sure you go in and unlink all acounts and turn off any "Find my ____" settings. Also make sure you have recorded the seriel number of the device you're sending in. Then if they return it for some BS reason, you can verify they sent your device back to you.

Same thing happened to me. Rejected my watch active 2 staying it was wrong device I did a chat with them, and they corrected it saying it was a technical glitch, and canceled the rejection. Whew!

Well my trade-in got accepted. After hearing all the horror stories in here I was expecting the worst. So I'm relieved....

Maybe Samsung has either learned their lesson, or found the thieves stealing the AW2's for eBay and other sites?

Yes, I financed it through Samsung finance, for the convenience, but plan to pay it off quick.

Well I looked yesterday and saw my husbands charge his was like 206 and then I saw the 10% credit. I saw my 10% credit 9 something but I couldn't for the life of me find my charge and it should of been near my husbands under Samsung. Turns out when I cancelled and reordered I did paypal that time which is a different email than my Samsung account but anyway it was under Payal @ Samsung I was like I have to of gotten charged and then I saw the 93 bucks. I wanted to make sure they didn't try to add on the $150.

After a successful phone call to Samsung, I received credit for my AW2 trade in. I also received the advertised/promised $50 Reward Certificate to be used on the Samsung Shop app on my next purchase.
Except that usage is so limited on “applicable purchases” that the certificate is basically useless. For example, I tried to purchase a watch band on the Samsung Shop app, but at checkout Samsung replies that “the certificate is not valid on this item”. I don’t need a new TV, refrigerator, or washer/dryer.

I would just like a watch band.

WTH?
smh
