Some transferred pictures not shows up in Samsung S5 Gallery

I bought a new Samsung Galaxy S5 today and transferred some pictures from my pc to the phone memory. I can see all of them in My Files. But most of them are not appearing as thumbnails in the Gallery. However, I can see all pictures received through WhatsApp. Any ideas why and how to solve it, please?!

Welcome to Android Central! What folder did you put them in? Are they all in the same folder, or different ones? Check to make sure there aren't any ".nomedia" files in any of the folders, because that would instruct the system's Media Scanner to ignore that folder.

Thanks B.Diddy. All the files are stored in "My Files" Folder. Some are appearing in gallery. Some are not !

File transfer over USB can sometimes be a little glitchy. It might happen if you copy over a huge number of files at a time. See what happens if you copy them over in small batches.

I transferred only 5 files. All are there in "My Files" folder. 2 Appeared in the Gallery. 3 not appeared. Just now I transferred a single file. Same issue !

They're all JPEG, right?

Try going to the App Manager, select Gallery, and Clear Cache/Clear Data, then Force Stop. This won't erase your photos, just the Gallery's database--once you open it again, the database will rebuild.

If that doesn't help, then see what happens if you wipe the cache partition, which doesn't erase any personal data. Reset: Samsung Galaxy S 5 | T-Mobile Support

Yes.They are all JPEG's. Done Clear Cache and wiped the cache partition. Still no change !

What about the Photos app (the one with the pinwheel icon, that is associated with Google+)--can you see the photos there?

It is really ouf of my understanding. Gallery shows only native taken pictures...

Just wondering if this issue was ever resolved for " yahyabai" as I am having the exact same issue. I have followed all the instruction you gave to yahyabai and none have worked on my phone either, although my photos do show up in the photos app..... how can I resolve this?

Same thing happening here thought I had it fixed but nope

There I went into my files and moved the whole folder I had transferred the pics into up closer to the root of the memory card and now they all show up.

I've a different problem, but perhaps u can help.
For some reason there are files in gallery and I have no Idea how they got there.
Some are of my grandsons recent trip, others from a 2004 trip we took.
I don't want gallery to sync with my pc, but it appears to have done just that. How can I stop that and get rid of the pics in gallery?
