some videos missing after import

i imported all my photos/vids from my gallery to my laptop but now i dont see some of the vids. i recorded some important family vids and now i do not see them anywhere. they are no longer on my phone because i stupidly chose to erase after import, any help would be greatly appreciated.

First do a file search "*.(file extension such as "mpg") on your whole hard drive(s). If they dont show up on that list then good chance they are floating somewhere in cyberspace.
Did you back up your phone at any time in the past? Do a recover/partial recover to get the files. However, I have never tried a partial recovery on my Sensation. I have the HTC sync app but dont think that helps. Hmmmmmm, may just have to do full recovery if you have a back-up.

Android records videos in .3gp format...look for that.

Ya I did a *.3gp and found that some videos show up multiple times and am still missing certain vids. Probably my fault for not backing up properly with double twist.
