So I am finally getting my battery life under control. The two big culprits for me right now are Facebook, and Google Search. For FB, I check it several times an hour, but it shows my phone as waking up over 300 times. The bigger issue is Google Search. I have used that ZERO times, and it is the #1 issue for wakelock triggers. Please help me get rid of Google Search!

Do you know what exactly is causing the wake lock? If you use Wake Lock Detector, it can tell you what component of an app or process is causing the wake lock. For example, with Google Maps, it was specifically the Location Reporting component that was causing hundreds if not thousands of partial wake locks per day, and once I turned that function off, I got around 10% of my battery life back.

For Facebook, if you check it yourself and don't need to be notified about other people's posts, go to FB's settings and change the "Refresh interval" to Never. That should prevent FB from waking the phone up in order to check the web. It's easy enough for you to update manually by swiping down on your newsfeed or your FB notifications.

I also wonder if the One's FB integration into Blinkfeed is part of the problem as well, but not being a One owner, I can't be sure.

Thanks for the help. Google Search says EntriesRefresh_Wakelock. Not quite sure what to make of that. As for FB I will am going to set mine to never. Thanks a lot!

Agreed with wakelock detector. But facebook still wakes the phone a lot even if refresh is never. It doesn't way for a long time but a lot. You'll have like 500 wakes for a total of 33 seconds. It's weird. I also noticed the same level on my s4 do it diesnt appear to be isolated to the One. Maybe it's because of chat? Not sure but it's weird. Anyhow, this doesn't cause much harm as other processes.

Do you by any chance have Google now activated? I think this could be what's using Google search. Also check all your location settings in Google apps as well.

It's probably related to Google Now, since Google Now is technically part of Google Search. You could consider turning Auto-Sync off. Again, if it isn't important for you to get real time updates on everything, Auto-Sync isn't crucial. Use a good toggle app like Power Toggles to make it easy to turn Auto-Sync on or off.

Edit: Sorry, scorpiodsu, didn't read through your post just above me! I agree with it.

Ya use Google Now only for voice commands really. I set alarms and reminders with it.

Yeah that's probably it then. Use wakelock detector to see how many times and for how long it wakes your phone. Then you can determine if its really a lot.

Google now on the S3, S4, and the One seems to help kill the battery. It constantly updates your location to remind you of stuff. Google has said that GNow uses minimal battery....I beg to differ. If I use it, I lose 10-20% throughout the day depending on what I have going on. To them it might be minimal, but to us that have internal batteries it can add up.

Did anyone figure out the solution to get rid of this wakelock? I'm getting this one all the time ... and it drains the battery like crazy.

Hey BDiddy, couldn't find a toggle for auto-sync in power toggles. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanx.

It's called Data Sync, and the icon looks like two arrows in a circle. Let me know if you can't find it, in which case I can post a screenshot.
