someone complained to verizon about cityid crapware

removing cityID and backup assistant are the two things i want root for the most right now.

I see through Astro file manager that if you get to the actual app in the /system/app folder, you get an option to uninstall. Anyone else tried this? :)

Although I can somewhat understand what you are saying. It should be an app to download. I guess for me I use my camera seldomly. I can list the last several times I have used the camera. Omaha zoo, Wrigley Field, City of Dallas, my kids. I dont take many pictures on my phone.

I just wonder if it is a drain on the battery or memory. Since I dont think I will ever use it I dont want it on my phone. If someone could say that it uses extremely little battery or other resources then I wont say another word about it.

Oh yeah I wholeheartedly agree it shouldn't be there in the first place. I would much rather my phone come completely clean with only the apps etc in place to make the basic phone functions work, then let me build on top with the apps.

Or at least an option to uninstall/delete anything you don't want or need. So what do you when the popup starts? Because I don't want that crap bothering me on every phone call, the phone is mine not a pay phone.

Well crapola. I guess we wait for root access. Can't wait to clean and lean this baby up some more!

yea, it won't work because without su you don't have read/write access to the filesystem outside of /emmc and /sdcard

I installed Astro, but can only seem to access the SD card. How do I access the internal storage? thank you!
