I turned on my phone this evening to find an ad for some game (with its link to the Play store) on my notification bar. I feel invaded.I have no idea what this chicken game is, but I'm definitely not going to buy it. I feel invaded. Is this something Google does to us now, or is it a virus, or what? How do I prevent it from happening again?

It's an air push notification from another app you have installed. Go download air push detector from the Play Store and run it. It will tell you what app is doing this and give you the option to delete it.

There is also an app in the Play Store made by Airpush that is supposed to opt-out your specific device, permanently.

If you're rooted, I also recommend AdAway in the Play Store.

Using Addons Detector led me to uninstall the Go Keyboard and Go Weather after two days of n-bar spam. Haven't seen anything pop up in the last three days.

Thanks, you guys. I'm off to do battle with push ads. And, yes, I'm running Go contacts, Go SMS, and at least one other Go app. Thanks again.
