When I first started reading about the SG3 I was under the impression it came with Ice Cream Sandwich. Then I learned that it has TouchWiz and the ICS will be out soon. I see an ICS Launcher in the Play Store so I'm not sure if that is the real launcher or if it will be available through software updates on the phone when it is released. OR, I may be totally wrong about everything I just said LOL Hep me understand!!

The GS3 is running Ice Cream Sandwich, the Android Operating System. However it is not using the stock android Launcher, it is using Samsung's TouchWiz launcher. Think of TouchWiz like a Theme added to Windows 7. It makes it look different than everything else, but it's still Windows 7.

If you decide you want a replacement launcher you should try nova launcher. Better than stock ICS by far but has the same look and feel as it is based off ics code unlike most of the others.

Thanks y'all! I've always had HTC phones so this is my first experience with Samsung. Gonna give Nova a try!

I tried nova and within thirty minutes it froze up my digital clock widget and started to act buggy so I ditched it... I found out as I tried customizing that sense has a lot of the same feature without having to lock and unblock the app which itself was a pain

I've been rolling with GO Launcher EX for over a year, and I love all the GO products. But, from all the reviews, TouchWiz is pretty good. I'll give it a try, then decide whether to try another launcher.

Welcome to the world of Samsung. Hopefully to soon get my GS3. I've owned a Samsung phone since the Instinct. Love there phones and TWZ. Some people will disagree but the best thing about a Samsung phone like all the others, because it runs Android which is the best OP IMO you can change your launcher and try as many as you like when ever you like. Enjoy your new phone.
