I can help you! First check if you location is on. If it is that's good and if not turn it on then check Google location history. Turn that off and it should help your battery life.

Actually don't listen to what I said about the location thing. Just watch the video. That should most likely fix your problem. :)

Turning off location makes sense for power saving but how does that impact Google Now functionality? I would think it renders it useless and I use it alot.

Very useless, but location shouldn't be an issue unless there are other problems.
