Something is Wrong Here

I heard Sprint released very reliable info regarding launch date and even the anticipated customs delay wayyyyyyy back in April, the only problem is they have downloaded the info using their own data network @ a blazing fast speed of approx 25 kbps so the info should just about reach us by June....l:mad:

BAZINGA!

Well before the EVOGATE happened, everything was in place for official launch and pre-order shipping. Pre-order shipping got delayed, but apparently orders kept coming from third party websites and so on. So now they're having to fill those orders while also clearing additional inventory from customs. I am thinking they want to have enough units in hand at all the stores before announcing an official date.

Sprint is only playing safe here.

I agree 100%. Nobody wants to make the same mistake twice.

if I can have the dude who wore the tin foil hat sitting beside me...I am all for wearing a tin foil hat!!!

I'm sure a huge part of it is coordinating media spots.

To do a launch, you want a lot of media coverage to coincide. TV spots, newspapers, etc.

Do you think it's easy to shoehorn spots into media spots ? Oh yeah, we haven't even mentioned fixing the previous tv spots to correct the date, etc. Do you think media spots haven't already been locked up for the NBA Playoffs?

All of that coordination before we've even considered whether or not stock will be in the stores properly to support a media heavy launch.

I love how all the arm chair CEOs are just saying, why don't they just announce a date already!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Conspirators... you guys are hilarious.

"There MUST be something else"

It was announced to launch on the 18th. They BARELY figured out the pre-orders (you know, the ones we all b**ched about, exclaiming we weren't getting them early anymore and such)

They made NO promises to those that would be buying on launch day. The promises were made to us, that pre-ordered : "Get them before launch" - That's it.

Now, they'll figure out a suitable launch day, organize correctly (as originally planned for the 18th) and execute.

You guys are adorably hilarious with your theories....

^^ This. I honestly don't see the problem. The phone isn't out yet - it's coming. Sprint (and HTC) had to get past a little issue that threw a small wrench into their plans. That's it. I obviously don't work for Sprint but I don't feel there's any reason whatsoever to be worried that there's "something else" going on, Sprint's in trouble, their PR's double-timing to fix some undisclosed "problem" from the guise of the public, blah blah blah. Maybe people's bodies are so ready for the EVO LTE, and I don't blame them one bit, that they're acting a little squirrelly... :D

Not to mention with Apple stomping thier feet and maliciously stopping the first shipement at port, the next wave of phones may have been delayed in Taiwan or wherever while they waited to see if they would even send them or if they had to offload them to upadate software or whatever. So a temporary hickup in stock would be expected maybe.
No need to read too much into this.
Anyhow I don't get my upgrade until October so I got to wait anyhow.

Do I really want to go through two more years and settle for third rate service from Sprint....:banghead:
