I booted up my phone today, and it showed the downloading symbol. I checked it, and it said Samsung under the progress bar. What is this?

Is it a system update? Go to Settings>About Phone>System Updates​ and see if something registers there.

Does the download complete itself? Do you get a notification that something has installed? I wonder if it could have something to do with the Knox security feature.

Does it keep happening, or just that time? My money is on some kind of update for Knox.

It was probably a "security update" thing they have under security.

Either that or Knox.

Could explain why it stopped why I switched to data. I'm just a bit paranoid of malware nowadays...thanks.

I had a similar/same experience. Booted S4-Sprint up, listing a Samsung download about 90% complete and downloading. This continued and I investigated, since I didn't request any updates and why was this download not completing? Couldn't figure out what was downloading. Booted up again and this incomplete download was gone. I don't have Knox or automatic security downloads. Looked to me like the Knox messages after the previous OS and the removal of the problem with kitkat. ie a screwup.
