How good is Sony about updating their phones with security updates and android versions?

Usually pretty good actually. I got the security update for my XZ within weeks of it being announced and the same on the XZ Premium!

I remember the updates being OK on my Z3C and Z2 but now that things are monthly are they keeping up every month or are they hitting every 2-3 months, or worse?

No idea but my xy premium received June, July, and August updates so far.

My phone updated to Oreo months ago and Sony seems to update monthly
