Does anyone know if the Sony Xperia Z3 Compact is compatible with the Samsung Gear S Smartwatch? It appears to have the proper Android V4 on it, but it's not a Samsung phone.

Also, what factory unlocked model number will work in the USA with AT&T and T-Mobile "LTE" systems? I see two out there (D5803 & D5833), but maybe one has to purchase a USA model from a local carrier to get "LTE" out of it???

Thx.

No direct knowledge. Should work.

Have the D5803 utilizing AT&T towers and it gets LTE.
Great phone, good luck.

Great! If I go with this slick little guy I'll look for a D5803 to insure total USA compatibility.

Anyone out there remotely connect this phone to a Samsung Gear S yet? Already have one running independently with its' own SIM as my only phone, but wouldn't mind having a easily pocketable modern full featured smartphone to compliment the Gear S.

Gear S needs Samsung app which you can download only from Samsung store. Even if you try to copy the apk it doesn't work, because the app needs Samsung's framework installed too. And that one requires features implemeted to the os itself I think.

I ended up letting the Gear S go. One of the reasons was the limited phones it will work with. Considering the Sony Smartband Talk to replace it. It's much lighter, smaller, does notifications and you can talk if you decide to actually take a call instead of just screening it. Talking on your wrist wasn't the best experience for anything other than short calls. The Sony Z3 Compact or the Z4 Compact will probably be my next phone. Hoping for a CES Z4 Compact announcement that will include Qi wireless charging and better low light camera abilities. ;)

I use it sometimes for talking and find it handy at that. So much easier to do something else while talking. Phone speaker doesn't do it quite so well because the clock follows even if you move to a another room, but phone you'll need to put on table. People seem to understand my speak even if I don't always talk directly at the mic.
