Hey guys,

I just installed a backup that I had and now I cant get into recovery. I completely wiped my phone back to factory, used the auto root method, succesfully rooted, installed rom manager to get into recovery, but when I tell it to go into recovery I cant get into it. The bootloader screen just shows up. The white screen with the droid skateboarders.

Did I brick my phone and does anyone know what I can do? I tried to factory reset from that screen but that wont even work.

:(

Did you flash clockworkmod using Rom Manager?

Yes I have done all those things. The phone was working fine before and recovery wasnt working. My phone died today, the battery died, and now I am stuck in bootloader. I cant get into anything. My phone wont boot and when I reboot it just reboots into bootloader. Can someone please help me? I really hope this thing isnt bricked.

Pull your battery out then put it back in and harge your phone for at least 20 mins and leave it alone.

Then Boot into hboot by Volume down + power. What options are you given at this screen?
These options? Does your Bolt still say S0ff?

If this is what you see try the recovery option. What does it do?

Ok so I took my SD card out, took my battery out and put it back in and the phone works fine, without the SD card. Once I put the SD card in it just keeps looping in bootloader. I go to recovery and it loops back to bootloader. It acts like its trying to install some file (pg something) and then it just loops back to bootloader.

Is there a file I can put on the root of my SD card that will unroot the phone and return it back to stock? Im done playing around with it and I just want it back to normal.

And yes, I get the same screen you posted. S off is there.

sounds like your PG015.IMG or whatever isn't being accessed/flashed correctly.

this happened AFTER you went in & flashed a nand backup? was the backup of a Stock ROM or was it some other ROM?

You cant access recovery until you delete or rename the pg05img.zip file.

Your sd card must be formatted fat32. You should mount your sd card, copy its contents to your cpu, then reformat it for fat32. Then copy back your files, erase the pg05img zip, and boot up the phone with volume down and power held together.

Highlight recovery and press power. Phone reboots to recovery mode, you select back up and restore, then restore, then find your nandroid backup. Btw press homekey to select in cwr.

If you want tto unroot see the sticky for instruction.

New problem

I have a rooted evo 4g stock rom and i installed the new root for 2.3.3 and it went to the screen when you first boot up that says EVO 4G white screen. I then took out the sd card to format it and tried to load up the phone with bootloader without the sd card, I got a red triangle with a red question mark + the phone very small in the center. Im stuck as to what to do next, and dont understand some of the tech jargon you all are using. Please help!

simple solution is sometimes the best

tried putting the card back in & booting it up?

but wait a minute---let me ask--are you trying to run an Evo 4G Stock ROM on the Thunderbolt? or am i mis-reading what you've typed there...
