I'm new to Samsung and Android in general and I for the most part really enjoy it. (I miss my note 7) It's really customizable compared to my old iPhone and now with my sd card holding all my stuff, I'm gonna find out hard going back.
My battery never seemed to be too much of a problem until right before I got Nougat for a few weeks. Then after I downloaded it things seemed a lot better but about a month after things got worse than ever.
I left for work with it at 100% then after an 8 hour shift it was at 5%. My screen time was less than 2 and a half hours and I barely used it I felt like. (mostly on my lunch break) It's been progressively getting worse and I've been looking up all the tips to get it better like not keeping WiFi on always, data saver keeping apps off, notifications to a minimum, location services set to battery saver, getting rid of most battery hogging bloatware and more even. But short of keeping battery saver always on (which probably wouldnt help much) it just doesn't seem to help and I'm at a loss.
My battery usage tracker doesn't even seem to be tracking most of whats eating it up so im not sure whats killings it. At work when it sits in my pocket it loses power as if I was using it. I have att and I was wondering if it was an att\galaxy problem or just galaxy in general.
Any help at all would be appreciated because this is very annoying. I didnt have problems with iphone batteries until a year and a half in and thats what this feels like right now.

Hey there.

The Android System battery drain is quite high. I would start looking for any apps that you frequently use that may be consuming power in the background even when asleep.

Some apps don't allow the processor to enter a deep-sleep mode for extended periods, particularly when they are actively seeking notifications. Disabling all connectivity when not needed may help, though the data saver may have helped a little.

If worse comes to worst, you may need to do a factory reset.

I'd do a cache wipe I had horrible battery life for a couple of weeks after nougat and now. Yes as the chart shows I did charge my phone but the point of the screen shot is that im showing on a full charge I'm getting 18-20hrs in one charge cycle.Screenshot_20170406-224811.png

If I was experiencing Battery issues on my s7 edge after my Nougat Update I'd certainly look at...

Clearing the System Cache which does not delete any information on the screen.
Delete my last apps to see if a rogue app is the cause.
Double Check any relevant app permissions / background permissions.
Create a Back Up and Factory Reset as a last resort.
Seek support from Samsung.

Yeah me too. I have a Verizon s7 edge and after installing nougat, I'm amazed at the difference in battery life.
