Soon to be Moto Droid User

Hey, i currently have a Lg Env touch (garbage IMO). I was going to make the jump to AT&T for the iPhone but the droid looks alot better! So i'm going to get it in the next few weeks . Should i know anything before i get it? Are there any apps i should install for sure? And should i get a case for it?
