Hi guys, the phone app on my phone has stopped working. Everytime I try to go to my keypad, recent, or favorites section to call anyone, it says the contacts have stopped working. I can still make calls but only to people who are in my contacts.

Has anyone experienced this??

Also I've already tried the take out the battery for a minute thing, didn't help.

Do you sync contacts from anywhere else besides your Google account? Like Facebook, Twitter, etc.?

Try going to Settings>Apps>All, select Contacts, and Clear Cache/Clear Data. Do the same for Contact Storage. Now open Contacts again and wait for it to sync with your Google account again. Be aware that this might delete any locally stored contacts, so don't do this if you have "Phone account" contacts that you don't want to lose.

Will clearing the cache for contacts delete them??

Clearing the cache won't delete anything important--caches are always temporary data the app uses for convenience and efficiency. Clearing data, on the other hand, might erase your locally stored contacts. This shouldn't be a problem if all of your contacts are in Google Contacts in the cloud, because they will sync back automatically.
