Sound cracking

Hello,

I noticed a thread on here from a while ago with someone having the same problem. Basically when I play videos from Facebook, Snapchat, or even Instagram I notice the sound cracks or sounds like it's skipping/lagging. I updated to 5.1.1 and I also cleared the partition cache and it still persists.

Is there any other fix to this?

Same here. I found that it behaves like this when the volume is low.

I too have the same stuttering audio problem. Even my ringtone and notification sounds stutter sometimes. Noticed it happens most in the youtube app, twitter, and other random video streams. Also noticed once I start a youtube video if I immediately start turning down the volume it starts to stutter, then if I pause the video and restart it, it is fine afterwards.

Uninstalled all music streaming apps, cleared partition cache, to try and troubleshoot the issue.

I don't feel it is a physical speaker problem, since it doesn't happen all the time and videos recorded with the phone have never given the stuttering audio.

Anyone have any ideas? I tried resetting the phone and the audio stuttering is still there, but still only occasionally when playing videos. Surely more people are having this issue.

Does it out ly work for certain audio playback such as crackling noise when playing music only, or for every sound/audio played?

I don't want to jinx it, but I think I narrowed it down to the twitter app. As soon as I uninstalled it the YouTube app played without audio stutter. I readded twitter and the stutter immediately came back in both dead spin twitter videos and the youtube app. Took the twitter app off again and everything's been perfect.

I have tried everything, never had twitter either, and mine still does it.

I spoke too soon. Removing the twitter app didn't help. The audio started stuttering a few hours later.

It is fixed now. Had to call warranty support and replace the phone. The new device doesn't have the same problem with the speaker stuttering. Looks like it was a hardware issue.

The call was surprisingly simple and short. I told her the audio stutters all the time from the speaker but is fine from headphones and bluetooth. Told her I have reloaded the phone multiple times setting it up as a new phone without loading apps. She then said looks like you have tried everything it's a bad phone and started the return process.

Did your device have any scratches or dings when you sent it back?

The phone i sent back was in like new condition. I'm a few weeks in and the replacement phone works flawlessly.
