Sound cuts out during video playback

I added a couple of videos to my sd card and the sound keeps cutting out. I can stop the video and fast forward once and rewind once and the sound picks back up so it doesn't seem to be a problem with the file. If I don't pause and reload the sound won't kick back in. I'm on a 2 day old HTC Sensation. I've tried playing the files threw the ASTRO file manager app and I downloaded the Gallery app from the Nexus one and also on the stock Gallery app. The files are AVI files.

Also if I'm in the middle of a video and I pause the video and lock the phone to handle something then come back and relaunch into the gallery I get a blank screen and a force close.

Thousands of dollars spent over the years on premium Android equipment and it seems they only work right after they are obsolete. Sorry for the negativity but I'm really loosing the faith here. Can anyone offer any suggestions or explain what I might be doing wrong?

Turns out when I record a video with the camcorder app and then go to play back the video I just recorded the video playback for that doesn't work at all either. The sound plays but the video doesn't. If you stop the video and start it anywhere in it, it will show the frame from that section of the video but just freezes there while the sound continues to play.

This Sensation is reported as being THE multimedia phone! What gives? I didn't buy a beta phone. I bought a finished phone. A $500 finished phone! Why the eff doesn't it work!?!?!

I've been using the app QQPlayer for videos with no problems. Video recording is fine, too. Maybe your phone has a defect?

Update; Took it back to the store and they pulled the battery and it seems to be working now. It's a bit laggy after you finish a video before it is ready to be viewed. Also, the sound still cuts off on some of the video's I've side loaded so the original gripe is still an issue but if this is all that is wrong with it hopefully it will be fixed with another couple reboot's, battery yanks or updates.

I feel like a tard as I just started a thread with the same topic. :( But you aren't alone. Mine is doing the same thing.

You are not alone, just today I was able to view more than a couple minutes of a doctor who I downloaded and also a couple south parks. Turns out I have the exact same problem. Even my camcorder 'test' video i recorded a few days ago has the same issue as described in this thread. I've tried turning off every service that it would allow and it still has the problem. Going to call Tmobile tomorrow and inquire a customer no service, surely their resolution will be to return the phone for replacement as I've only had this for about a week. If I resolve the issue I will post back.

I am so furious with this problem but I'm on orders at Camp Pendleton until Monday. can't get more than 3 mins into a movie before the sound stops. skipping around recovers the sound, but its not feasible to watch a 2 hour movie in 3 minute segments. ill call tmo I guess.

Have not heard any "official" address of this issue from HTC. If you have, please link it. After innumerable resets, battery pulls, and player downloads, it's still the same thing - I can't watch more than 2-3 mins max of any sort of video clip until the sound stops.

I've ordered a replacement phone, it should be here in the next few days. I'll update if the situation changes.
