Hi. When I had my someone on Facetime as I went from my home to the car, in using Facetime on iPhone 7, the transition from phone speaker to bluetooth enabled auto speakers (2017 Prius) was seamless. However, with the S8 the Skype transition is not possible seamlessly. I have to disconnect the call and re call the party. On iPhone 7 one can select the desired audio output on the screen. Can I select the output to change it on S8? Any suggestions? Thank you.

That's on Skype's end, I'm afraid. Not sure how Skype works on the iPhone, but if you initiate a phone call on your S8, once it connects to BT, it seamlessly connects the audio to your car. Same thing with media (Spotify, Play Music, stock media player at least). Skype? Nope. As I get better quality with FB Messenger's video calls I haven't used Skype on my car for a while but there might be a 'solution' on the S8 if you MUST use Skype: The phone will show where audio is playing. Try forcing the audio to go through your car (or back to phone, then back to car) to see if that works. When connected to your car the menu bar should appear on the notification shade.

Disclaimer: You should NOT be doing video calls on your car! Taking audio calls is already reducing your attentiveness to the task at hand, let alone doing video!

Hi SpookDroid,

Thank you for the response. I feel as if it supports my desire for this not to be a phone or car issue. So that's good news. I will miss Facetime for this reason. The window for my handsome mug is so small in Messenger and the video quality is not as good. My spouse is in the Philippines where coneections are slow speed for our standards at best. I think her connection is 1.8 Mbs at best. Ha. I hear you on the driving while chatting etc. You are correct sir! Thanks so much for your detailed input!
