Sound problems on Nexus 4

Hi everyone,
My LG Nexus 4 only plays in MONO mode. I tried 3 different headphones, connected the phone to my ($4000) stereo system. Still - everything mono.
Any ideas?

The jack probably is defective. It might be connecting to only the plug's ring or tip rather than both, which is necessary to get stereo.
