So I was watching the Android Guy on You Tube tonight and a question was asked concerning the poor sound quality of the S7. My ears perked up since this is a major complaint of mine and a lot of other people. According to him, the poor sound is due to the water resistance feature and the higher the IP rating, the poorer the sound quality. Nothing can be done about it. Do you guys agree?

for me it's fine. I do a lot of movie watching and speaker phone calling and no problem here. definitely not a reason to skip this phone.

That is what I figured. THe sound quality on my S6 was very good, but the S7 is kinda poor. They obviously have to use some kind of plastic or other type of water resistant diaphragm for the speaker.

I equate built-in speakers on TVs or monitors. You can basically hear what's going on, but if you want any kind of dynamics or sound quality you're going to need headphones or external speakers.

Is this referring to the speakerphone speaker at the bottom, and/or the top speaker for the ear? I don't care very much about fidelity as long as I can understand people. Listening to music through the headphone jack seems fine enough for me.

The speaker phone is usable and decently loud. Quality isn't great but... It is water resistant, and I would take that over the lower sound quality any day, especially over my wife's iphone which was just replaced due to water damage. Cost a pretty penny too

I've had an exynos s7 for a few weeks now and I think the stock sound is ok, enable adaptive sound and jazz which gives it a bit more bass feel
