Sounds started very muted

On my new Moto Z Force phone, I find that sounds (call ringtone, event notification, etc.) all start very muted. Can I change that? I don't see where to change that in Settings|Sounds.

Mine are the same and I never figured out a setting. Have grown to like the way it handles those notifications.

Well, the problem is that in Do No Disturb, with the phone is Flipped Over, I can barely hear those notifications when a calendar event is notified.

Glad to hear this is not a "feature". How often do we get updates on this baby?

I bought this phone on release date and it has had the muted sounds from day one. I don't think a security update caused this.

The most recent update...Which was a security update. Was the culprit. Not specifically the "security"that caused it. Something within the update caused the volume to mute itself quite a bit.
So far that is the single, solitary complaint I have about the z force

It's only been out less than 3 months and has had 2 or 3 updates, so it's almost monthly so far. Most that has been security updates, though.

One of the updates took notification sounds from quiet to even quieter. It's a known issue that they hopefully fix soon.

Makes it very hard to hear, I carry this phone and my s7e in my front pocket. Barely feel the vibrate on the motor and the ringer is super quiet.

Agreed. Love the phone except for not being able to rely on it's notifications of calendar appts.

Wow...this is kind of bad...I left the Pixel due to bad Bluetooth Issues and now I can't hear half of my notifications...I truly hope this gets fixed.

What apps is everyone experiencing this with? I use WhatsApp and it's plenty loud. My email notifications are plenty loud. Text notifications are a little too low. And the ringer volume starts low but then goes up to normal range. I'm not sure if I'm not experiencing this issue or if there's something else going on. I remember the security update that caused this, and the only thing I noticed was the text notification volume became lower, but nothing with any other app as far as I can tell.

luckily mine is always on vibrate (havent ever heard a sound from mine yet lol) but the notifications are a PIA. trying to find a way to work around them

Well, it hasn't been fixed with the 7.0 update, so let's see how long this takes. This is the first phone i've owned that had this problem. Good thing that i've got my N6P as a back-up.
