Spacebar causing Force Closing on many apps

This past weekend I gained my first real issue with the Droid Pro. Seemingly whenever using most of the programs you type on (WhatsApp, GoSMS Pro, Friendcaster, and others specifically) when I get to using the spacebar it forces close on the apps. I am running the downloaded Gingerbread update, but have been running it for a few weeks now. I had installed no new apps this weekend and the problem was just seemingly out of the blue. I am not rooted and have no interest in rooting, but would like to figure out if this issue can be fixed on my own. It seems like there are other keys, possibly the period key, that also seem to be forcing close at times. I'll take it to Verizon to get it switched out for another Droid Pro if I have to, but was wondering if anybody else has experienced this issue or has any possible ideas for what the cause might be and a fix. Was going to try to downgrade back to Froyo, but haven't found explicit directions on how to do that.

Solution:
Settings > Language & Keyboard > Multi-Touch Keyboard
(I removed all check marks under this.. specifically the option "Highlight Words".)

Tmoney: "i tried what jersey said and that worked out great!! so then i went back one by one to see which is the problem. For me it was the "Next Word Prediction" option that gives this error. Everything else can stay on, as long as this option is off."

My wifes Pro just started having this problem today. I'm trying to figure out a solution as well. No luck yet.
