Pretty much what the thread says. My speaker is blown and I'm wondering when I go to have a replacement sent will they send me a Dinc? A Dinc 2 or what?

Typically if the same model is available, than that's what you get. My wife had a Blackberry 8330 replaced with another 8330 1yr11mo after she originally got it. Less than a month after getting the new phone, she upgraded to another one with her 2yr renewal. If they have a refurb Dinc to send, than that's what you'll get. Next week someone else may get a D2, and the week after your old-now-refurb may go to someone else.

Some stores even have somewhat of a service center, a speaker replacement is pretty simple, and you may not need a new phone at all in that case.

Here are a few links for the part if you are handy and want to replace it yourself. Probably cheaper than the $99 deductible.

You won't have to pay the deductible, if you're paying for the extended warranty or TEC, as long as there's no physical damage to the phone.

The DInc has been out for less than 2 years - i would think they'd still have some replacements in the warehouse, but in the case that they don't stock them, i'd think you'd be given a DInc2

Order the speaker. Is actually very easy to get to. Have changed both in my Dinc.

I thought refurbs are not returned phones but in fact phones that are pulled from the factory floor during production when there is an issue, etc.
I have had numerous people tell me that.

Good link! The globaldirectparts.com is for repair shops only. My speaker recently blew too. This is the 2nd DInc to blow the speaker. I really don't want to pay the $99 deductible. I even looked on eBay and saw DIncs for auction for cheaper. I called VZW and they gave me the option to buy a refurb at a reduced cost, but I would have to agree to a new 2-year contract. Negative, I don't think so!

So, buy a replacement speaker for $15. Pay the $99 deductible and get the same 2-year old phone I'm already rocking. Buy the same 2-year old phone off eBay from someone who recently upgraded for less than $99. Or put a little more money with the $99 and buy a different phone off eBay. Decisions, decisions.

I'll take the speaker. Thanks for the links!
