Why on earth did motorola/Google put the speakers on the Xoom in the back?It just doesn't work well at all.I have a Droid x and having the speaker on the back wasn't a bright idea either but on a bigger platform like a tablet why on earth would you put them in the back?! Putting them on the sides would have been ideal but oh well.Maybe the Xoom 2 coming out at the end of this year will have it along side the Tegra 3.The only way I can hear the speakers really good is by placing my hands behind them acting as directors for them because all the sound is going away from you.Anyone else with this gripe???

I ask myself that everyday.

I usually use headphones though, but I use my xoom as an alarm clock and have to make sure the speakers are facing up when I go to sleep.

I share the same gripe since I purchased my Xoom on Day 1. Bad product design.

i like the speakers the way they are. they are loud enough and i think that putting them on the front would be a space issue and on the bottom is just horrible.

If you put the Xoom down on a hard surface the sound from the speakers will actually amplify. But who uses speakers, anyway? What's more annoying is that they put the headphone jack on the opposite side of the power jack.

But at least with the headphone jack at the top we can use them while the unit is in the portfolio case.
