I am noticing that sound output through the speakers seems to be coming from just the right side. my non empirical test:

i cup my hands aroudn the right speaker the sound gets louder and more focused, which is what you would expect

do the same for the left speaker no change, in fact at 50% volume i put me ear next to the left speaker and there is a tinny thin sound. i put my ear next to the right speaker and i have to take my ear immediately off b/c it's outputting louder.

very quirky,

Are you sure you're listening to a "stereo" source? If you're listening to a "mono" source and the default speaker for "mono" is the right speaker, you would hear exactly what you're hearing.

Mono sound is a single channel source audio signal sent to one or more speakers.

No such thing as mono having a default left or right side.

This is a known issue. Asus is working on this. Unfortunately it starting to look like a hardware problem so you may have to send the unit in for a fix.

cracked my new transformer open last night and it was very apparent when using apps like pandora...there wasn't true stereo...would have been nice if there was a way to balance the audio l/r or increase the bass
