Hi, im looking at buying either the sensation or evo 3d since they have some simalarities. The evo 3d has a known issue with the main speaker being too quiet, cant hear the phone ring from the next room and speaker phone is low etc. My question is how is the volume on the sensation?.......i havnt seen any complaints in the threads so....
Thanks

The speaker has a very tinny sound and is far from adequate in my belief. You cannot use speakerphone in the car unless you hold the speaker right up to your ear. If you like to play music or talk radio through the speaker then forget it...horrendous sound. When you raise the volume all the way you get a lot of crackle & pop and its still not all that loud. Clearly the speaker was sacrificed to make the phone thinner. I may have re-thought this purchase if I realized the speaker was this bad since I use speakerphone a lot and I always used the radio/speaker of my Vibrant every day. The only plus to this phone is the large screen & fast processor.

Oh yeah...the ringtone is not so low that you cant hear it, but I do miss a lot of notification tones/dings etc...

If I were you I would try out the Sensation in store and play all the different ringtones & change their settings. You should also try playing a music type of ringtone so you can get a feel for the speaker. When I tried the phone in store I was wowed by the Sense interface and I forgot all about trying sounds or using the phone as I would normally.

Good Luck.

Just got a tip in another thread about volume + app in the market. It does help in terms of volume. Does not help speaker quality but the notification sounds are much louder. I highly recommend this app!
