Speakers inoperable after replacing charge port?

Just finished replacing the charge port/headphone jack. Now the speakers work for about 1 second then shut off. Headphones work fine. Any ideas?

We have exactly the same problem. Keen to know of any possible fixes.

the charge port has a hookup for the external speaker, so if you get the wrong one without the speaker hookup, the speaker doesn't work. if you're buying from ebay, it needs to say that it has the external speaker adapter (usually has an AT&T logo). Good luck!
