Spectrum Phone Cases

Luckily it did not take till May 1st to get my case. The ballistic case arrived today. I'm very happy with it. Definitely adds bulk, but also protection.

I can live with the added bulk if it protects my phone. I tend to keep things a while, and don't plan on buying a new phone very 4-6 months like a lot of people I know. So, if I have to live with a little added bulk to help make my phone last longer, I can deal with it. Accidents happen, especially drops! I also have banged my phone pretty hard onto tables, counters, etc while it's on my pocket.

My Ballistic case arrived today. I really like this case because of the weight it adds to the phone and just the overall way it feels in my hand.

The rubber buttons over the power button and volume rocker works very well. You don't have to press hard to make them work.

Overall I am definitely happy with the purchase of this case. Now I can breathe easier because my Spectrum isn't naked anymore lol.

Not a very worthwhile first post but I just ordered the Ballistics case after having the body glove. I loved my otterbox that I had with my DX but looks like they are gonna skip this phone which is disappointing. The Bodyglove is ok, I like the rubberized "bounce" protection offered by the other cases though which is the reason for the switch. I got free shipping on Amazon even though they said it was gonna be $5.

I have the LG Spectrum with the extended battery and am wondering if there are any good strong cases that will be able to hold the extended battery and have the holster option too. I bought the Shell and holster case from verizon but the whole thing is starting to break a lil at a time. I would say i am really rough on phones seeings how i work on vehicles and am always outdoors doing something. Please help me.

I'm looking forward to hearing your review of that case, Isaiah. Could you take a look at signal strength with and without the aluminum case? I've heard that aluminum can degrade signal...

I have the official Verizon shell on my old AMOLED DROID Incredible (I never used the holster, though). It was great because it is a one-piece solution. But I did notice over the years that because the case doesn't wrap around the top and bottom that those areas are more prone to scratching and chipping.

I never considered a TPU case for the Incredible because of how far the camera lens juts out. That's not an issue with the Spectrum. The new phone came with two cases, one TPU and one silicone. I really like the low profile of the TPU case and how it completely wraps around the front edge of the phone, providing just enough protection of the screen when placing the phone face down. But the TPU case doesn't interfere with my ability to clean the screen by wiping it on the shoulder of my shirt.

Depending on how rough I may or may not be on my Spectrum, I may one day get a Body Glove.

wish i could help you out but I don't know. You should just get a couple regular batteries and use a regular case :D

My review of the aforementioned case...

It looks sharp and I give it 5 stars for that

It doesn't fit right. You can actually press on the sides and it squeaks because it doesn't form to the phone perfect. It doesn't move around and grabs the phone good but the fit just isn't quite right. It's not a deal breaker because unless you squeeze the phone you won't really notice. And it looks like it fits perfect.

The case quality looks good and it's very sturdy and professional looking

Connection quality does seem to be an issue. I use my phone for internet because I live in the country and I typically only have 90-105db connection strength (1-2bars) and my internet hangs while using this case. I've tested this many times and it definitely seems to be the case causing my internet to slow down and sometimes hangup completely. I don't think it would be a problem if you have a strong signal but for me being that I have such a poor signal already this case seems to really have a negative effect on it. I really didn't think it would be an issue though because the aluminium is just a very thin sheet which is glued to the back of the case itself which is plastic.

The case goes on and off the phone pretty easy which is a plus for me

I have a belt clip-on leather case which fits the spectrum nicely if not using a shell. I have another white hard shell that doesn't allow me to use it because it fits way to tight. This case actually lets me use my leather belt clip-on case.

It has a nice sleek design and doesn't add a ton of bulk to the phone

Overall I give the case a 3 out of 5 stars. I take one star away because the squeak annoys me. The case should fit perfect and anything that's truly a high quality product would. And I take another start away because it interferes with my signal and this was not stated in the description of the product. I wouldn't take a star away if this was put in the description.

Good review.

I'm guessing you'll keep it? It's probably not worth the time and hassle trying to return it...

If I find myself needing a tougher case that this TPU skin I'm using, I'd probably go with the Body Glove.

Yes I'm going to keep it. I like the case actually it's just killing me with it messing with my internet I keep having to remove the cover. But I'll just use it a my going out case because it does look sleek and professional.

Saw a new case on the 'bay. For $12 I might order one just to check it out. Lots of color variations too. Waiting for orange! ;)

Go on Amazon and look up the ballistic case for the spectrum. It is nice and protective (especially around the corners) but not unbearably large. Comes in red and black.

Yea looks good but a little too chunky for my taste. I need to be able to carry this monster of a phone around in my pocket all day
