Speculation on the Aug. 26 Bionic launch.

Most of us have come to terms with the supposed Sept. 8 launch speculation, but what is this i hear about Aug. 26? just one last bit of noise before something official drops?

BB bold was NOT released on a Friday (granted, its only direct sales, but nonetheless it breaks tradition)

Besides, Verizon and Moto know they need to get this thing out of the door ASAP

Honestly - how many of us secretly hope that its the 8th.. I know I kinda hope thats the case. Im an impulse buyer, but I really would be interested in hearing what Samsung has got lined up too. I love the moto quality but the knowledge that a slimmer version of this phone is right around the corner kinda pisses me off too.

If it drops on the 25th or the 26th, Im a sucker and I will buy buy buy.. If Samsung is convincing enough I might wait after that.. but who knows.. Daddy wants a new phone.. but is sad it will not be HD

I'm thinking the text messages we all got regarding the 18th (tomorrow) for being a 'show up at THIS store and be one of the first 100 and you have a chance to win a phone).... maybe they are going to do a surprise release of the Bionic? heh. Ok, maybe not. But i'm gonna be at the store in Omaha so I can hopefully win a Charge... then sell it to buy the Bionic a week or two-ish later.

I'm buying the Bionic site unseen at this point, no more waiting for me. I'll attach my logo...

Either way phil the end is nigh. In the next 2-3 weeks we should have em in our hot little geek hands. Its better than it being months away still. Thanks for your info over the course of this crazy ride called bionic.

If the 26th is for pre-orders wouldn't it mean at midnight on Thursday we could start ordering?

If I recall, customers were able to order the D3 the day before pre-order via telesales. It went online sometime early in the morning, though. Between 2-8AM.
