Tested my ThunderBolt and my wife's Rezound. The best I have ever had with the ThunderBolt is around 28 Down and 18 Up. My wife's Rezound busted out a 43 Down and 19 Up today. SW Ohio.

That's with two bars in Mesa AZ and a 168 ping.... oddly enough, I seem to get much better reception by the VZW store...

You're not the only one. I went into my local VZW store and my bars became full and speed increased. I looked at every device and they all had full bars. Bars dropped as soon as I left.
I'm guessing this is done on purpose so they can showcase their devices without any bad reception.

From day one my speeds at home have been in the 6-7 range although in other cities I have had up to 40. Then Wednesday my speeds at home have more than doubled where I now consistently receive 15-20. There were no announced upgrades but apparently something was done to a tower near my house.

I've managed to get a few megabits more, too, but this was the only screenshot I had that would not involve a lot of irrelevant test history. This is around St. Louis, MO, which is the server I used for the test. The actual location where I did the test was slightly south, though, in a city called Fenton.

Sadly, 4G is not at my home...

The VZW store probably runs its own picocell.
