Spell check not working on S9 plus

[Android Central Question]

I have enabled the spell check via;
Settings/General Management/ Language & Input and enabled it for both keyboards but it's still not working.
Does it need enabling elsewhere as well?

What keyboards do you have? I use swiftkey and predictions are working fine.

I had a issue with predictive not working, installed swiftkey , everything worked ok, but didn't really like the swiftkey keyboard, uninstalled swiftkey soon after, and hey presto predictive text now working on the standard keyboard.
