SPen button to eraser mode not working in SNote

In Note 2, I used to press the button on SPen and I can switch between pen mode and eraser mode in SNote. This doesn't work on my Note 8. Nothing happens when I press the Spen button. There is no problem with the hardware as I'm able to take screenshots using the Spen button. Is this a common issue? How do I fix this?

It should work so long as your spen is close enough to the screen that is shows the cursor. I just did it and it worked but only if my spen was close.
