Hello, everyone.

I just purchase a galaxy note 2, and though I love it, I'm having some trouble trying to figure out how to add apps to the split screen feature (without rooting or doing any of that fancy stuff). All the videos I've seen show apps like Chrome and Facebook in the sidebar, but those same apps don't appear there on my phone. I've tried going to the "edit" screen to find them there, but no luck. Attempting to drag and drop the apps from my home screen to the sidebar also doesn't work. I feel like this is a stupid problem, but I just can't figure it out.

Any help is much appreciated. :)

There is no built-in way to add apps, you can only use edit to remove the ones you don't want in the dock. There is a procedure posted somewhere in the forum explaining how to modify .apk files for this purpose. It contains a link sending you over to xda developers.

Yeah, it's pretty limited stock. If you root you can install a mod to get all apps in there without having to modify the apk's. The process is real easy, just read the guides carefully and ask questions first.

It's sad but true. Our current stock Verizon Note 2 cannot edit multi-screen apps, other than removing certain ones. The edit button as it stands now, is pretty much useless. The same is true for the Sprint version of the Note 2, except Sprint currently has a better choice of stock apps in the multi-screen view. At least we have multi-screen feature, I don't think AT&T even has this yet. Hopefully things will improve over time. I don't feel like rooting my Note 2 at this time just for the sake of the multi-screen/window app.

Just root it for now. It can be put back to stock very easily. That way you can add all the apps. you want in the multi-window. One of the experts on here can help you if need be.
