Spots on Screen

I must have misunderstood. I was picturing straight across the top to mean no camera cut out. I don't see any reference on their page for these generation differences. Do you know how we can tell? Can we order the newer model? I wonder if there are other differences.

First gen on the left, 2nd gen on the right. 2nd gen has no mention of blue light cut on the packaging and you can clearly see the glass is straight across the top without that extra dip in the glass. I have both versions and these are my pictures.

The gen2 glass has better oleophobic coating, more case friendly (it's a little shorter) and the alignment tray has been updated for a better install. The gen 1 tray was too sloppy, letting the glass be misaligned during the install.

That's looks like they made a notch to keep away from the speaker. Not really necessary but probably to help avoid glue getting to the speaker.

Ok, I think I see now. I got the 2ng gen model. It's not got the speaker dip and it's definitely the second box with no mention of the blue light cut. Perhaps that is why the tray was perfect and made this an easy install. And by easy, I mean that if you follow the directions, it goes as planned. It was still a ton of steps and probably took me about an hour with pausing my YouTube and following along and making sure everything was dust free with every step until that glass hit the phone.

I'm really happy with how it looks and feels. Also, now I know that there are no spots on my original screen and if they were caused by something I am doing, it won't happen to my new screen.

I appreciate your clarification about the Whitestone Dome models. That was really helpful and since I am recommending this screen protector to some friends and family, I'll make sure to tell them what to look for. I want to make sure they get the model that I have.
