Just an FYI for everyone thinking about selling back their Evo 4G to Sprint to get credit for the Evo 3d. A co-worker of mine whose GF works at a Sprint Store said they are only giving back up to $50 (not up to $150) since it's more than likley the Evo 4G price will drop down to $99 on contract.

Will the Sprint store honor the $150 quote I got on May 27? It's supposed to be good for 45 days.

Store told me they couldn't honor any previous quotes and they can only give you whatever the computer says on Friday... obviously the price will drop because of the 3D coming out.

Just sign up online and ship back your Evo 4G next week (that's what I did). I don't want to lose the $150 credit!

The was I figure it is the store should honor the online quote ... Whether you take it in or send it to them them via mail it all goes back to the EXACT same place ... My E3D is on a UPS truck right now out for morning delivery and I will be taking my quote and Evo 4G to a store for the buyback tomorrow ... I have learned through my 11+ years with Sprint just to go in an try ... And if that particular store can't help go to another ... NOTHING is EVER a rock solid " no we can't do that ".

Well just play it safe, lock in your buyback online right away and then take your EVO (unrooted) with you to the store when you go to pick up your 3D. If they give you grief on the $150, show them your buyback receipt that is good for 45 days. If they hedge again, ask for the manager (don't argue with the gnomes out front - they have no power).

If they still balk, just send the phone in.

P.S., Remember to go to a big company owned store and not a franchise.

This is a bunch of bs .... i specifically asked my sprint store rep about that credit and she said it wasn't going to be a problem. This might change what I do. I've been debating on the E3D and SGS2 .... the fact I was going to get 150 credit for my evo was making me lean towards the E3D. Now I might hold off. Ohh the decisions. (I also have a Radio Shack pre-order so gotta see how much they will be giving for credit now too)

Edit -- Appears Radioshack is saying $158 for a EVO 4G in good condition with charger. I swear that is higher than it was a month ago. Weird.

I just went through the steps for buyback online. In the confirmation email was this. Just an FYI:

Also, make sure you mail in your phones as soon as possible in order to receive their full trade-in value. Phones received more than 30 days after the trade-in date may be revalued.

Its funny that they are not specific in what to include with the phone ... My feeling is keep your sd card and send the phone AND battery ... You can't use the battery with your E3D so why keep it .

I'm pretty sure the battery in the 3d is slightly longer and as such the one in the 4G is a little shorter so it would be loose no?

Re-read my statement ... I said you CAN'T use it with the E3D
