After months of waiting, Sprint finally released the Sprint Direct Connect Now App in the Google Play store.

Problem is, it only seems to work with certain phones, the S3 not being one of them.

Being in the construction industry, I was really looking forward to this app, and would make use of it daily. Anybody else interested in the app?

I don't understand why on the flagship device, it won't work with the DC app. Heck, I used to have a nextel years ago and I'd actually like to have this for me and my wife to use so we can talk to each other on our Galaxy S3's. She has the white S3, and I have the blue...so we could both use the app if they would enable it for our phones. Wonder if the Sprint Community forums has any information or Sprint techs responding to questions about it there?

I like how they won't even let you download or rate the app..All 5 stars so far, guess I can't add my 1 star for no s3 support

From what I'm seeing the techs saying, the have the app closed off to just the Kyocera Rise at this time...but the tech said "maybe they'll open it up to other high-end devices" or something along that line..
So maybe the flagship phones will be able to use it, it would be nice.

I just downloaded Voxer and I'm going to try it with my wife and see how that works on our S3's.

Someone dug up this screenshot of a slide from what I assume is a Sprint internal presentation.
It says:
"At launch, available for the Samsung Transform Ultra, expanding to additional non-embedded devices in the future."

That suuuucks.

Where I live voxer became a bit of a social network. It's a thing if the past now but I think it works well

i still use the tikl app my wife and i both have the sg3 and it works great, ive used voxer before its ok i feel like something is missing ,,,,

Seems to be some confusion on which device(s) will have ability to use this app...
Someone is saying on the Sprint forum that a tech told them only devices with the Qualcom MSM8655 will be able to use it, and if the device doesn't contain this chip, it can't operate using the app.

I'm not sure this is true or not, as it doesn't make any sense to make it for that chip, and not a chip like the Galaxy's Snapdragon S4 MSM8960.

Surely, the MSM8655 being an older model, the newer MSM8960 would be able to do (plus some) what the Transform Ultra can do, or am I wrong??

Anyone know the spec difference in those chipsets and if the information this person is posting on Sprint could be conceived as correct??
