Sprint essential come unlocked to work on other carriers?

I was just wondering if the sprint version is unlocked? And also has anyone payed with Affirm financing? If so how is it?? Thanks

Essential's Twitter feed says the Sprint version is locked. They should provide an unlock code once paid in full. However, if you want an unlocked phone right away then you're better off buying direct or from Amazon or Best Buy.

I always buy outright and can't say how Affirm is to work through.
